Monster Stripers Weighed in Tuna Showed Up

Jul 31, 2009

The Bait is everywhere out front and the Stripers and Tuna have followed the feed. The Rapala X-Raps Grn Mackeral 30' divers are producing big stripers off of Speckled Apron and the Football Tuna guys are using them to hook up out on the 180 line near the Isle of Shoals. We weighed in 15 Stripers over 30LBS this week. The river has been very warm topping out at 74 degrees Farenheit and up until Wednesday night was very slow Up river on the Merrimack. Surfcasters are producing lots of big fish ocean side throwing whole tinker mackeral and Point Jude Lures. Around the river use your sand-eel imitations like Slug-go's however you may lose a few to the blues. This is one of the best July's we've had in a long time when the weather allows fishing. Good Luck.
