Crossroads Bait and Tackle Fish Report > Lots of Tuna and Blues
Lots of Tuna and Blues

Aug 6, 2010

There are a lot of bluefish and tuna around and some of these tunas have been slamming big blues of the surface. There have been multiple reports in 90ft of water and out at breaking rock of this happening. A couple bluefins have been caught livelining bluefish, however football fisherman be warned the size class of fish hitting blues are gonna be tough to wrangle on light gear. Whiting is the choice bait out at the Southwest hump and a bunch of tuna were taken there this week. Striper fishing has been tough around here with some night time success, however eeling has been tricky with all the blues biting our eels in half. I had my best luck and was able to get away from the blues fishing real shallow in about 2ft of water on the flatts. The Parker River has been producing stripers and up north is staying consitent. Portsmouth is loaded with bait and big stripers.
