Crossroads Bait and Tackle Fish Report > Happy Fourth of July Fishing
Happy Fourth of July Fishing

Jun 30, 2017

There are officially tuna starting to bite and be seen around without having to go 60-90miles out like before. One Giant was landed out just northwest of halibut point and there have been multiple sightings of fish busting all through that area. yesterday in our hunt for fresh macks we saw a ton of pogies from breaking rock to the discharge shafts and I heard reports today that tuna and stripers found and were busting on them.

there are a lot of keepers coming in from guys in a boat and off land. One guy reported 3 keepers in a 2 hr period surfcasting off Salisbury Beach, and there are boats that are throwing back over 20 keepers a trip. Our charter Captains have reported releasing over 30 keepers on some trips after limiting out like Matty Groves on "Hooked on Salmon Charters", Chris V on "Manolin" and John Parkhurst on "Parkhurst charters". It's been tougher finding the bait than it has finding stripers in recent days. Macks continue to be sporadic. Isle of shoals has very little and is not worth the trip. breaking rock had macks today but none yesterday. Dry Salvages down off Rockport has been very productive for a little longer of a ride.

Happy Fourth and may your nets be heavy
