To test the Mic, you need a modern browser (unfortunately, Internet Explorer is not such a browser) that supports accessing media devices. As you have noticed, our microphone test tool does not require additional software such as Adobe Flash, Microsoft Silverlight, or browser plug-ins. In general, there are no restrictions on the type of device you can use and so your microphone could be integrated (into headphones, a mobile device, a laptop), wireless (WiFi, Bluetooth), or connected via a cord (USB, TRL, XLR).
