Silent migraine, also known as a "migraine with aura without headache," is a type of migraine that can cause neurological symptoms without the classic migraine headache. Symptoms of silent migraine may include visual disturbances, difficulty speaking, vertigo, and tingling or numbness. Most people with silent migraine experience symptoms that last from a few minutes to a few hours. In some cases, the symptoms may come and go for days or even weeks at a time. Common visual symptoms of silent migraine include seeing zigzag patterns or flashing lights, or a temporary blind spot in one eye. Other symptoms may include confusion, difficulty concentrating, numbness or tingling in the face, neck, or arms, and a feeling of dizziness or vertigo. In some cases, people with silent migraine may experience nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain. It is important to talk to your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms to ensure you get the proper diagnosis and treatment.
