When the home screen layout is locked, modifications to any home screen are prevented, not simply the first or default screen. You may still navigate between home screens; this does not lock the device. Home Screen Layout is Locked When you install new apps, however, no icons are placed on your home screen. Until your home screen is unlocked, it will seem the same.
