Joshua is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas holding a Master of Science degree and Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, both from Texas A&M University, Commerce.
Amongst Joshua's areas of expertise are the treatment of Complex Trauma, PTSD, Anxiety and Depressive Disorders, Addiction, Personality Disorders, ADHD, Adjustment Disorders, Anger Management, Stress, Major Life Transitions, Relationship Issues, Couples Counseling, Cultural Issues, LGBTQ+, Coping Skills, Suicidal Ideation, and more. He enjoys working with children (10 and up), teens, adult individuals, and couples.
Joshua is trained with Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which enables his clients to heal from symptoms and emotional distress that are a result of trauma and challenging life experiences. In addition to EMDR, he uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to create an integrated, adaptive, and Person-Centric methodology to help guide his clients through their personal journeys of healing.
Joshua’s main goal is to improve his client’s lives through exploring the journey’s they have taken and creating new paths to independence and mindfulness. When working together, you will determine an approach that helps meet measurable goals in order to accept the past and be more present so that you can develop the future you deserve.
