What does the Law of Dominance in genetics explain?

The Law of Dominance, proposed by Gregor Mendel, explains that in a pair of alleles, one allele may mask the expression of the other. The dominant allele expresses its trait over the recessive allele, meaning the recessive trait only appears when two recessive alleles are inherited. For example, in pea plants, the allele for tallness (T) is dominant over the allele for shortness (t). This law helps in predicting inheritance patterns in offspring.
