1. Bananas Are Technically Berries, but Strawberries Are Not
Botanically speaking, a berry is a fruit that comes from the ovary of single flower, with seeds encased within the flesh. According to this definition, bananas are berries but strawberries that grow from a single flower with multiple and ovaries do not. While you're enjoying your morning fruit bowl you can ponder that fruity harmony!

2. Wombat Poop Is Cube-Shaped
Yes, you read that right. Wombats, the furry marsupials indigenous to Australia produce cube-shaped poop. Scientists think this unique feature can stop the poop from rolling away, allowing wombats to use it as a way to mark their area of territory. It's one of nature's oddest engineering marvels.

3. Octopuses Have Three Hearts and Blue Blood
If you thought octopuses are aliens with their eight arms and high level of intelligence this is a great addition: they have three hearts! Two pumps blood to their gills, while the third circulates it to the rest of the body. The blood of these animals is blue because of hemocyanin, a copper-based molecule which connects oxygen.

4. There’s a Jellyfish That Lives Forever
It is believed that Turritopsis Dohrnii is often referred to as the "immortal jellyfish," is the only fish that has the capability to change its cells back to an earlier stage of life after having reached maturity. This process, called transdifferentiation, allows the jellyfish to potentially escape death and start its life cycle over. While they're not immune to predators, this is a feat in nature.

5. A Day on Venus Is Longer Than a Year
Venus has an incredibly slow cycle, taking 244 Earth time to go through a rotation on its axis. But it takes 223 Earth days to allow Venus in its orbit with respect to the Sun. So, a day on Venus is actually longer than its year.

6. Sloths Can Hold Their Breath Longer Than Dolphins
Surprisingly, sloths, known for their sluggish and relaxed movement, are able to hold their breath for up to 40 minutes simply by reducing their heartbeat. Dolphins on the other hand, typically hold their breath for about 10 minutes before surfacing for air.

7. Sharks Have Been Around Longer Than Trees
Sharks are the oldest of creatures who have existed for over 400 million years. Similarly, trees have been in existence for around 350 million years. Sharks escaped mass extinctions, being able to adapt to different environments and are among the most resilient species on Earth.

8. The Eiffel Tower Can Grow Taller in Summer
The Eiffel Tower, made up mainly of iron, expands in the temperatures. In summer, the tower can grow up to 6 inches taller owing to thermal expansion. As temperatures fall and it returns to its original height.

9. Honey Never Spoils
Archaeologists have discovered pots filled with honey in ancient Egyptian tombs over three thousand years old, and are completely edible. A low amount of water and acidic pH make it insensitive to spoilage and bacteria, giving it an almost indefinite shelf life.

10. A Cloud Can Weigh Over a Million Pounds
Despite looking like fluffy and light, clouds can be quite dense. A typical cloud of cumulus contains many millions of tiny water drops, each one weighing in excess of a million pounds. Fortunately, this amount of weight is spread out over an extensive area, which means it glides easily in the atmosphere.

11. Some Turtles Breathe Through Their Butts
Certain turtle species, such as turtles like the Australian Fitzroy River turtle, are able to use a unique adaptation known as cloacal respiratory. This permits them to take oxygen from the sea through the closure cloaca (an multi-purpose opening) making it possible for them to remain under water for prolonged periods.

12. There’s a Town With No Cemeteries
In the Norwegian town called Longyearbyen has a peculiar law: it is illegal to die there. Because of permafrost, bodies that are buried cannot decompose, and could lead to spread of disease. If a person is severely ill the person is transported to another town for end-of-life care.

13. Cows Have Best Friends
It is known that cows have a strong social aspect. They build strong bonds with people in their herd. It has been proven by research that cattle suffer stress when they're separated from their favorite friends, highlighting the emotional profundity of these gentle animals.

14. Water Can Boil and Freeze Simultaneously
At a certain pressure, referred to called the triple point, water may exist as gas, liquid, or solid at the same time. This is due to the fact that the conditions are just right for the three components to coexist harmoniously.

15. Your Stomach Gets a New Lining Every Few Days
The human stomach creates strong acid to digest food, that could cause harm to the stomach lining if not for its protective lining. This lining is replaced every about three or four days, to keep your stomach safe and functioning.

16. Pineapples Take Two Years to Grow
Despite their sweet and juicy flavor, pineapples are surprisingly slow-growing fruit. It takes about one year for a plant to make a single fruit, making them among the most intensive crops to cultivate.

17. The Shortest War Lasted 38 Minutes
The Anglo-Zanzibar War, fought between Zanzibar and the United Kingdom and the Sultanate of Zanzibar on the 27th of August, 1896, holds the record for the longest war in the history of. After a mere 38 minutes, Zanzibar surrendered, making it a blink-and-you'll-miss-it conflict.

18. Birds Don’t Pee
Unlike mammals, birds don't produce liquid urine. Instead, they excrete urine in a paste-like form. That's why the bird's droppings appear white. This helps them save water and remain light-weight for flight.

19. Sea Cucumbers Can Eject Their Internal Organs
When they feel threatened, sea cuttlefish have an unusual defense mechanism that is to expel its internal organs through their anus to stop predators. Amazingly, they are able to regenerate these organs within weeks.

20. A Group of Flamingos Is Called a “Flamboyance”
The stunning pink birds do not disappoint in their description since their collective noun is equally vibrant. A group of flamingos are appropriately referred to as "flamboyance," adding flair to their already impressive appearance.
