Fildena 50 is a medication primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. The active ingredient in Fildena 50 is sildenafil, which is the same active ingredient in Viagra. Sildenafil works by increasing blood flow to specific areas of the body, particularly the penis, through the following mechanism:

Inhibition of Phosphodiesterase Type 5 (PDE5): In the body, there is an enzyme called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), which breaks down a molecule called cyclic GMP (cGMP). cGMP plays a key role in relaxing smooth muscle cells and dilating blood vessels.

Increased cGMP Levels: When Fildena 50 mg is taken, sildenafil inhibits the PDE5 enzyme. This inhibition leads to higher levels of cGMP in the smooth muscle cells of the blood vessels, particularly in the penis. cGMP helps relax the smooth muscle and dilate the blood vessels, allowing more blood to flow into the area.

Improved Blood Flow: The increased cGMP results in vasodilation (widening of blood vessels), which improves blood flow. For men with erectile dysfunction, this enhanced blood flow helps achieve and sustain an erection in response to sexual arousal.

It's important to note that sildenafil only works when there is sexual stimulation, as the body still requires natural signals to initiate the release of nitric oxide, which in turn promotes the formation of cGMP. This selective mechanism ensures that the drug only promotes increased blood flow when needed.
