The process of obtaining a mortgage involves several key steps, starting with pre-approval. During this phase, a lender evaluates the borrower's financial status, including income, credit score, employment history, and debt-to-income ratio. Pre-approval gives borrowers a clear notion of how much they are able, making the home-buying process more efficient. Once pre-approved, borrowers can begin buying homes inside their budget. After selecting a property, the borrower submits a mortgage application, which the lender reviews to determine whether to approve the loan. This process often includes home appraisal to guarantee the home's value aligns with the loan amount requested.
