Malegra 100 mg, which contains Sildenafil (the same active ingredient found in Viagra), can cause vision problems in some individuals. While it’s generally safe when used as prescribed, some side effects related to vision have been reported. Vision Problems Linked to Sildenafil (Malegra 100 mg): Temporary Vision Disturbances: Blurred vision or changes in color vision (e.g., seeing everything with a blue tint) are common side effects that can occur when taking sildenafil. These visual changes are typically temporary and usually subside within a few hours after taking the medication. Malegra 100 Mg Sensitivity to Light (Photophobia): Some individuals may experience increased sensitivity to light, making bright lights uncomfortable. Rare but Serious Vision Issues: In rare cases, sildenafil has been associated with more serious eye problems, such as non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), which is a condition that can lead to sudden vision loss. This is a very rare side effect but is serious and requires immediate medical attention. The risk factors for NAION include pre-existing eye conditions, age, and cardiovascular issues. Temporary Vision Loss: Temporary loss of vision in one or both eyes has been reported in some rare cases. If this occurs, it’s critical to stop using the medication and consult a doctor immediately. Why Do Vision Problems Occur? Sildenafil, the active ingredient in Malegra, works by increasing blood flow in the body, including to the genital area. However, it can also affect blood flow to the eyes, leading to the visual disturbances mentioned above. Sildenafil can inhibit the enzyme PDE6, which is involved in the process of vision in the retina. While PDE5 inhibition (the primary target of sildenafil) helps with erectile dysfunction, PDE6 inhibition can affect vision. What Should You Do if You Experience Vision Issues? Mild visual disturbances (e.g., slight blurring or color changes) are usually temporary and not cause for concern. However, if these issues persist or worsen, you should contact your healthcare provider. If you experience sudden vision loss or other more severe eye problems, stop taking Malegra 100 mg immediately and seek emergency medical help.
