Chasin Surf is a family travel blog that includes a collection of posts to encourage people to keep traveling and discover new cultures, cuisine, and beautiful landscapes to make a difference in their lives. 1.In addition to traveling, we write about the gear we use, our lifestyle, and the people we meet along the way. Family NYC Itinerary: New York at Christmas is something unique. I truly find it irresistible; I've traveled a lot for pleasure and business, but I'd never been with my mother and daughter, and I was especially excited to experience the city at Christmas with them. This was my daughter's first trip, so it will always be close to my heart. After our trip to Key West at Christmas, we knew it was time to head to New York. We flew from Raleigh-Durham at 5:15 a.m. on Thursday, December 14, and landed in La Guardia at 6:30 a.m. I highly recommend flying early on any family New York City itinerary so you can make changes for delays and cancellations, if necessary. We didn't check our luggage, so we were able to go directly to the "Ride in the App" transportation section in Terminal 2. Since we were going that direction, I booked a Lyft on the app, and upon arrival, the car was already waiting for us. At LaGuardia, this has always worked well and seems to be the most economical mode of transportation (so far) from LaGuardia to Midtown. We hopped on our Lyft and headed across the Queensboro Bridge to the JW Marriott Essex House near Central Park to pretend we were coming home alone for my daughter. She loved it, and it was the perfect start to our family New York City itinerary. 2.We arrived at Essex House, checked in, and left our luggage with the concierge. The receptionist confirmed she could call us as soon as our room was ready. From the bellboy to the concierge to the front desk staff, everyone was exceptional, and we respect them greatly. If you're looking for an ideal area to live on your family's New York City itinerary, this is it. We walked down Sixth Avenue to Radio City Music Hall for a 9:00 AM tour. We entered through the main entrance, at the corner of Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Tours are not pre-booked. Simply arrive, get in line, and you'll be assigned the next available tour. They depart every half hour and close in approximately 60 minutes. New York City family itinerary
