Most of the gyms I’ve toured recently look the same—lots of treadmills, a decent weight section, and some group classes. I’m looking for something more unique: a gym Santa Monica location that actually supports athletic performance training near me. By that I mean turf areas, sleds, battle ropes, medicine balls—the kind of tools athletes use to get faster and stronger. A lot of gyms don’t seem to prioritize this style of training, which is frustrating. Does anyone know of local gyms that cater to both regular fitness members and those who want to train athletically? Or is it better to go with a specialized performance facility?
