Vilitra, which contains the active ingredient vardenafil, is primarily prescribed for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED). It works by enhancing blood flow to the penis through the relaxation of blood vessels. However, Vilitra is not a medication designed to lower the risk of heart attack or stroke. In fact, patients with certain cardiovascular conditions need to be cautious when using it. Vardenafil can affect blood pressure and may interact with nitrates or other heart medicines, leading to dangerous drops in blood pressure. While some studies suggest that treating ED may improve quality of life and potentially benefit cardiovascular health indirectly, Vilitra itself should not be considered a preventive treatment for heart disease or stroke. Individuals with heart conditions should only use it under a doctor’s supervision.
