Looking at flight reliability, Delta tends to have a strong track record for on-time performance, especially for longer domestic and international flights. Southwest, however, is usually very reliable on short-haul routes and regional travel but can experience delays in busy hubs. If punctuality is a top priority, Delta may be the safer choice. On the other hand, Southwest’s open seating and frequent flights make it easier to adjust plans if your schedule is flexible. I’ve noticed that Southwest’s customer service approach can also help mitigate minor delays, as staff are proactive in rebooking or assisting passengers. So your choice between delta vs southwest airlines may hinge on whether you prioritize strict schedules or flexibility.
