Vilitra 40 mg, which contains Vardenafil for erectile dysfunction (ED), can cause redness of the eyes as a possible side effect. Vardenafil is a PDE5 inhibitor that works by relaxing blood vessels to increase blood flow to the penis. However, this vasodilation is not limited to the genital area; it can also affect blood vessels in other parts of the body, including the eyes.

Redness occurs because the small blood vessels in the eyes dilate, leading to a flushed or bloodshot appearance. This is usually mild and temporary, resolving as the drug’s effects wear off. In addition to redness, some men may experience blurred vision, sensitivity to light, or a bluish tint in their vision, though these effects are less common and generally short-lived.

Higher doses like 40 mg increase the risk of eye-related side effects compared to standard doses (10–20 mg). Men with pre-existing eye conditions, such as glaucoma or retinitis pigmentosa, should consult a healthcare professional before taking VILITRA 40 MG.

To minimize eye redness, it is advisable to:

Avoid excessive alcohol or stimulants, which can worsen blood vessel dilation.

Rest your eyes and avoid strain after taking the medication.

Report persistent or severe vision changes to a doctor immediately, as this could indicate a more serious issue like ocular ischemia.

Overall, eye redness with Vilitra 40 mg is generally harmless and temporary, but caution is warranted in men with pre-existing eye conditions or high doses.
