What's up folks! Quick question and also sharing what I just learned. I drive a 2023 Nissan Patrol Platinum, and if you're in the UAE like me, you know how brutal the desert conditions can be on our vehicles. Between the sand getting absolutely everywhere, the insane heat, and the occasional dune bashing trip, my Patrol was starting to show some serious wear.
I was talking to a friend who does a lot of off roading, and he mentioned that regular detailing isn't really enough for vehicles that spend time in desert environments. He suggested I look into Nissan Patrol SUV detailing for desert conditions because apparently there are specific treatments and protections that work better for our climate.
So I did some research and found a detailing shop that actually specializes in this. They explained that desert detailing is different because of the fine sand particles that get into everything, the UV damage from our intense sun, and the heat that affects both exterior paint and interior materials.
What they did was pretty comprehensive. For the exterior, they used a special clay bar treatment to remove all the embedded sand particles from the paint, then applied a high temperature ceramic coating that's designed to withstand extreme heat. They also treated all the rubber seals and trim pieces with UV protectant to prevent cracking.
Inside, they deep cleaned the air vents and AC system (apparently sand builds up in there and affects performance), applied leather conditioner that won't get sticky in the heat, and put protective coating on the dashboard to prevent sun fade and cracking.
They even cleaned and protected the undercarriage, which they said is super important after desert driving because sand and dust can cause corrosion over time.
The difference is honestly night and day. The car looks incredible, but more importantly, I feel like I've actually protected my investment against the harsh conditions we deal with here.
Has anyone else gotten this kind of specialized detailing done? I'm curious if there are other treatments I should be considering for regular desert use.
