MIM parts don’t have a low raw cost. The material is pricey, and the molds are too. However, there are some definite advantages to using MIM parts or Micro MIM. They’re tough when you make them. So, you can heat treat them. You won’t need to finish them. There is no need for any extra work. Also, we do not need to smooth the surfaces using a machine. Manufacturers can shape these parts in ways that machining cannot. This is often due to cost or feasibility issues.
