Malegra DXT is a combination medication containing Sildenafil Citrate (for erectile dysfunction) and Dapoxetine (for premature ejaculation). Because it contains two active ingredients, it has specific contraindications beyond standard ED medications. Patients who fall into the following categories should avoid Malegra DXT entirely: 1. Heart-related conditions Patients taking nitrates (for angina or chest pain), including nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, or isosorbide mononitrate. Combining these can cause dangerous drops in blood pressure. Patients with unstable angina, recent heart attack, severe heart failure, or uncontrolled arrhythmias. Those advised against sexual activity due to cardiovascular risk. 2. Severe liver or kidney impairment Malegra DXT metabolized in the liver and kidneys, so severe dysfunction can increase the risk of drug toxicity. 3. Allergy to Sildenafil or Dapoxetine Any history of hypersensitivity to either component. 4. History of certain psychiatric or neurological conditions Dapoxetine can worsen seizures, severe depression, or suicidal tendencies. Patients on MAO inhibitors, SSRIs, or other serotonergic drugs may risk serotonin syndrome. 5. Heart rhythm or blood pressure issues Uncontrolled low blood pressure, severe hypotension, or prolonged QT interval. 6. Other conditions Severe vision disorders (e.g., retinitis pigmentosa or previous NAION) related to Sildenafil.
