Bangladesh vs Pakistan 2nd Test 2026: Abbas Strikes Early as Pakistan Make Perfect Start in Sylhet
Pakistan could not have asked for a better beginning in the second Test against Bangladesh at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

Shan Masood explained at the toss that the pitch was still a bit unknown and the weather forecast suggested that early bowling conditions could be favorable.
It was exactly the sort of opening spell Pakistan needed after losing the first Test and falling 1-0 behind in the two-match series.

Mohammad Abbas has built his reputation on discipline and accuracy, and he showed both in his very first over.
After testing Mahmudul Hasan Joy with a ball down the leg side, Abbas found the perfect line in the corridor of uncertainty. Joy pushed tentatively away from his body, and the thick outside edge flew to Salman Agha at second slip.

Mominul Haque Takes His Time
At the other end, Mominul Haque was content to play patiently.
The left-hander left well outside off stump and focused on surviving the testing new-ball spell. He had scored just one run from eight deliveries, but his calm presence is important for Bangladesh in these conditions.
If Bangladesh are to build a competitive total, Mominul’s experience will be crucial.

This Test is Pakistan’s final opportunity to level the series.
