Vidalista 20 (which contains tadalafil 20 mg) in India is regulated under the country’s overall pharmaceutical regulatory system, rather than by a single “drug-specific” authority. The primary regulator is the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), which functions under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. CDSCO is India’s national regulatory authority responsible for Vidalista 20 , monitoring, and controlling drugs in the country under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 and Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945. However, regulation is shared between central and state bodies. While CDSCO handles national-level functions such as approval of new drugs, import permissions, and standards, the State Drug Control Authorities are mainly responsible for licensing manufacturing units, wholesalers, and pharmacies within their respective states. This means products like Vidalista 20 are manufactured and sold only if they comply with state-issued manufacturing licenses and retail pharmacy rules. In addition, Vidalista 20 is a prescription-only medicine (Schedule H drug) in India. This means it legally cannot be sold over-the-counter without a valid prescription from a registered medical practitioner. Pharmacists are required to dispense it only on prescription, and maintain proper records as per drug rules.
