Okay I need to share this partly as a cautionary tale and partly because I'm still a little annoyed at myself. Went through not one but TWO returns before finally getting the right ladder for our pool. Sharing so hopefully someone else skips the trial-and-error phase I apparently needed.
First attempt, I didn't check the pool wall height properly and ended up with something a solid few inches too short — looked fine in the product photo, completely wrong in real life. Second attempt, I overcorrected and got one rated for a much deeper pool than ours, which just looked oddly oversized once installed. Third time's the charm though — went back through schwimmbadleitern online bestellen listings much more carefully this round and actually measured everything myself instead of eyeballing it from memory like an idiot.
Lessons learned the hard way, for anyone else about to make the same mistakes I did:
Measure your actual pool wall height, don't estimate or guess from memory
Product photos can be deceiving on scale — always check listed dimensions
Look for listings
with clear size charts, not just "one size fits most" claims
If in doubt between two sizes, most sellers will tell you which one fits typical pools your depth
Finally got the right one installed last week and it fits perfectly, which honestly feels like a small miracle after two rounds of returns. Return shipping wasn't even that bad, but still, would've loved to skip that whole process entirely.
Anyone else have an embarrassing "measured wrong" pool story? Feel like I can't be the only one who's done this.
