A Ledger device works together with Ledger's companion software. Ledger's current software is called Ledger Wallet, previously known as Ledger Live. The application provides the interface for viewing portfolios, managing accounts, and initiating supported transactions, while the hardware device keeps the private keys isolated from an internet-connected computer or smartphone.
