Preparing my next visit to Shirdi today and thought I'd put together a listing predicated on material I hope I'd identified before the initial two visits. Hopefully helpful for anyone booking for the initial time.
The most obvious one is spot, but I won't replicate that because it's been included a whole lot in Shirdi Serviced Apartments threads. What I wish to banner is the stuff doesn't appear clearly in record images but ultimately ends up mattering a whole lot after you're actually staying somewhere.
Home entry, even basic. Didn't believe much of this on my first journey, but by the 2nd I especially looked for it. Doesn't must be anything sophisticated, just a functioning range, some standard cookware, and a fridge. To be able to produce tea each morning or store some fresh fruit and snacks preserves an astonishing quantity of little trips out, especially when you're touring with young ones or elderly parents who don't need restaurant food each meal.
Genuine bedding and linens, not only "furnished" in the record description. Realized that one the hard way — booked a spot nevertheless completely furnished, turned up, and your kitchen had actually one pot and no correct cookware. Today I information the number beforehand and ask especially what's involved as opposed to trusting the record copy.
Water heater that really works reliably. Small issue, but early mornings before darshan are cool enough that the working geyser makes a genuine big difference, and it's not at all something you are able to inform from photos.
Respectable illumination and safety across the go to the home, especially when you're preparing early morning or night time darshan. A spot can look good in images and be on a path that feels questionable at 5am.
Variable check-in timing. Lots of people appear on immediately teaches and wish to head directly to darshan, therefore a spot which makes you delay until noon for check-in is genuinely inconvenient.
Enough space for the genuine group size, not only technically enough beds. Cramming a family group of 5 into anything meant for 3 persons appears great in some recoverable format but gets previous fast.
Open number or home manager. Anything generally arises throughout a multi-day remain — a leaking touch, a concern about the area, whatsoever — and how fast some body responds makes a genuine big difference to how smooth the remain feels overall.
Nothing of that is revolutionary, but I feel like most first-timers (myself included) target very nearly completely on price and distance and just know these other things subject after they're presently there coping with a gap. Interested what others could include to this record — what you especially check for the present time that you didn't think about your first time about?
