Crossroads Bait and Tackle Fish Report > Bent Rods
Bent Rods

Jun 11, 2016

As I went out through the river yesterday I saw bent rods all over the place. from Joppa right through the mouth just after high tide I think I saw 4 out of 5 anglers fighting fish when it was in its prime. Matt from hooked on Salmon Charters reported that he hit his limit for his charter by the end of the third drift through the mouth with live mackerel. The mack's are getting thin out in front of the mouth however breaking rock has been producing plenty of bait. The bigger fish are here, and spread from the beach front up to the Lawrence damn. The damn started out slow this year and it looked like the big ones might not make it up there but recently a lot of topwater action is producing some big fish.

porbeagles are still around out at Jeffries Ledge and the haddock fishing is still doing very good out there. A lot of guys doing some combo trips, loading up on ground fish in the morning and sharking in the afternoon. Some guys have found the tuna and a couple were sold locally this week. One brought in from just outside of Tillies trolling a black spreader bar.
