Stripers Will Eat Anything Right Now

Jun 17, 2017

The stripers are biting and they are taking just about anything we throw. From topwater to softplastics to bait. Unfortunately the mackerel have been extremely tough to find however the stripers don't seem to care. If you don't find any macks they will take the small Pollock right now. Fishing around Eagle Island has been on fire for us. We are seeing lots of small ones but plenty of 30-35 inch stripers in the mix to make it worth it. Guys fishing the mouth are seeing a higher average size but not getting the same amount of action and still the bigger fish are in the low to mid thirty inch range. I heard of a few fish over 40 inches but not a lot. Pogies have been sighted recently and hopefully will draw some monsters in. Haddock fishing is still very productive out on the curl and the cove. There were a few football tuna spotted off rockport pushing the surface and I heard of a few fish marked around the Isles of Shoals.
